Owlchemy Labs reveals Hyper Visor, an XR game coming to Xreal Aura

Join independent journalists and industry decision-makers at GamesBeat NEXT, returning to San Francisco November 2–3. The event brings together 500 executives, founders, investors and tech leaders shaping the $200 billion interactive economy for candid discussions on gaming, entertainment, technology and AI, plus executive networking and opportunities to build partnerships and close major deals.

Owlchemy Labs today revealed its newest game: Hyper Visor, an XR arcade-style shooter that will be a launch title on Xreal’s new Aura XR glasses. Alongside the new game, Owlchemy’s other major titles — Job Simulator, Vacation Simulator and Dimensional Double Shift — will also be available on Xreal Aura when it launches.

In Hyper Visor, players have to blast fractures in reality, which manifest within their space as vibrant fissures layered over our reality. Over the course of eight levels, players must battle bosses, face a variety of challenges and seal the rifts. According to Owlchemy, each level makes the titular visor more powerful.

Andrew Eiche, Owlchemy Labs’ CEO, said in a statement, “Our core philosophy is XR for everyone, and for a lot of people the biggest barrier has been the headset itself. Xreal Aura is essentially a pair of shades, which makes XR far more approachable for anyone who may have been hesitant to put on a headset before. Hyper Visor is built to meet those players where they are, whether it’s their first time in XR or they’ve been playing for years.”

Xreal revealed the Aura glasses earlier this year, later opening up pre-orders for a price of $1,279. The Aura glasses are powered by Android XR and are built with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Reality Elite Platform. In addition to Owlchemy’s library, games on the Aura include Resolution Games’ Demeo, Odders’ Chess Club, nDreams’ Oh My Galaxy! and three titles from DB Creations.
