Rogue Ops arrives on October 22, 2026, bringing major changes to Gray Zone Warfare, including a new core gameplay loop centered around building your Hideout and a crafting system. Madfinger Games is also announcing a major autumn sale ahead of the update’s release.
Gray Zone Warfare is entering its Alpha stage of development with a wide range of improvements, many of them directly inspired by player feedback. Among the most requested additions is the ability to create multiple playable characters.
Three major new locations, the Radio Observatory, Asylum, and Military Research Site, will offer hours of new exploration while expanding the game’s lore, atmosphere, tactical challenges, and opportunities to secure some of Lamang’s most valuable loot.
“Announcing the release date for Rogue Ops is a commitment to delivering the best possible experience to our dedicated community,” said Tomáš Nawar, spokesperson for Madfinger Games, in a press release. “We will also give our most dedicated supporters the opportunity to experience the update before its official release.”
Three days before launch, selected journalists, streamers, content creators, and owners of the Supporter Edition will be invited to play the update early. Through previews, livestreams and creator coverage, the wider community will be able to see authentic gameplay and experience first-hand how far Gray Zone Warfare has come.
One of the biggest additions in Rogue Ops is the introduction of the Hideout and crafting system, creating an entirely new layer of progression and player choice. Players will be able to produce chemical substances and narcotics for medical purposes or the illegal market, opening up new opportunities and creating competition based on the paths they choose to pursue.
Crafting will also allow players to research and develop new technologies, including hacking tools that can unlock previously inaccessible areas. This new gameplay loop represents another step on the journey toward Ground Zero.
Rogue Ops will also be the first major Gray Zone Warfare update to preserve players’ existing progression. As part of the game’s first soft wipe, only in-game currency and equipment will be reset, while existing progression will remain intact.
From October 1 through October 8, 2026, all editions of Gray Zone Warfare will be available at a 33% discount as part of the Steam Autumn Sale. The discounted Supporter Edition offers an ideal opportunity for players who want to take part in the Rogue Ops Supporter Preview ahead of the full release.
Over the three weeks leading up to the launch of Rogue Ops, the Gray Zone Warfare community can also look forward to a three-part devlog series, in which the developers will reveal a wide range of new features, improvements, and details about the upcoming update.
