PlaySide Studios unveiled the gameplay premiere for the real-time strategy title Game of Thrones: War for Westeros.
The highly anticipated real-time strategy game, set in the dramatic universe of the Emmy and Golden Globe award-winning HBO Original drama series, Game of Thrones, is built for PC and planned for release on Steam in early 2027.

Developed and published by PlaySide Studios and officially licensed by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment on behalf of HBO, War for Westeros is a classic real-time strategy game set in the vast world of Westeros. The stakes for claiming the Iron Throne have never been higher, as players take command of House Stark, House Lannister, House Targaryen, or the dreaded White Walkers to conquer the Seven Kingdoms and decide who sits on the Iron Throne.
The brand-new Gameplay Reveal Trailer showcases the very first look at gameplay in War for Westeros, revealing the return of some of the most iconic heroes from the franchise.
Players will engage in epic real-time skirmish battles across the Seven Kingdoms, commanding factions and playable heroes including Robb Stark, Jon Snow, Ghost, Grey Wind, Jaime Lannister, Tywin Lannister, Daenerys Targaryen, and the Night King himself, all of whom utilise unique abilities that can shift the tide of battle.
Forging a path to victory will require players to step into the role of a commander, making key decisions in training units, securing resources, constructing buildings, and claiming territory from opposing forces.
Each faction offers asymmetric strategies, with unique armies, buildings, mechanics, and playstyles shaped by their identity in the Game of Thrones series. Players must harness these distinct strengths, deploy powerful heroes, and adapt their approach to outplay, outmaneuver, and defeat their enemies.
