Crytek has announced the appointment of Zoher Toutanji as its new chief publishing officer (CPO). In this role, Toutanji will lead Crytek’s global publishing organization and further expand the company’s capabilities as a self-publishing developer. He will oversee publishing strategy and commercial operations, supporting the continued growth of Crytek’s live-service portfolio while helping shape the launch strategy for future titles.
The appointment marks another milestone in Crytek’s long-term strategy to strengthen its position as a global self-publishing developer, investing in publishing expertise to support both its live-service business and future premium releases. According to a press release, by further expanding its global publishing capabilities, Crytek “continues to build on its commitment to delivering outstanding player experiences while driving sustainable long-term growth.”
Across its studios in Frankfurt am Main, Germany and Istanbul, Turkey, Crytek currently employs 385 people. Toutanji joins Crytek with extensive international experience across publishing, commercial leadership, and live game operations. Most recently serving as chief commercial officer at IO Interactive, he previously held senior leadership positions at Riot Games, Square Enix, and Ubisoft.

“I feel lucky to get to do this for a living. For a lot of people, games are a real part of everyday life, something they make time for and keep coming back to. The Hunt: Showdown players have shown how much that can mean, sticking with the game for years. What I’m here to do is help our games reach the people who will love them, wherever they are, and to further grow the base of players with new content for Hunt: Showdown and for future products”, said Zoher Toutanji, the now chief publishing officer at Crytek, in a press release.
The appointment reflects Crytek’s ongoing investment in its publishing organization and its long-term strategy of expanding its global commercial capabilities while maintaining close collaboration between development and publishing.
“I am very happy that Zoher joined Crytek as CPO to help us grow Crytek’s publishing capabilities and make it a full pillar in the company leadership team and the global organization”, said Hannes Seifert, co-CEO of Crytek, in the same press release. “I had the pleasure of working with Zoher before, at Square Enix, and later as part of my team at Riot where he was a pivotal contributor to building publishing in EMEA. I am grateful for the continued trust and look forward to what we will achieve together.”
Crytek continues to invest in its future as an independent developer and publisher, building on the success of Hunt: Showdown 1896 and its proprietary Cryengine technology. The addition of Zoher Toutanji to the leadership team marks another step in the company’s continued expansion of its publishing capabilities, supporting sustainable long-term growth.
