The Among Us universe is expanding.

The makers of Among Us revealed a new trailer for their upcoming standalone title at Summer Game Fest 2026 today, June 5. Titled Among Us Story: On Guard, the game involves a mystery-solving theme evocative of Innersloth’s original Among Us. Players will explore different locations, such as a cafeteria and laboratory, to solve a murder mystery. Among Us Story: On Guard is Innersloth’s first original release since Among Us 3D in 2022.

Also today, Paramount+ quietly released 10 episodes of the Among Us animated television series originally announced in 2023, bringing stars Liv Hewson and Yvette Nicole Brown onstage at Summer Game Fest to promote the surprise release. Summer Game Fest is a familiar home for the Among Us TV series, whose first teaser trailer was unveiled during the 2024 edition of the event.

During their Summer Game Fest appearance, Hewson and Brown showed up alongside two life-sized Among Us characters, with Hewson humorously pointing out to Brown that one appeared to be deceased.

“Get hyped for chaos, betrayal, and more in the Among Us series,” Brown said during her onstage appearance.

Among Us is the latest popular gaming property to expand into transmedia adaptations following the success of television series such as Amazon Prime’s “Fallout” and HBO’s “The Last of Us.” With a star-studded cast that also includes prominent names like Randall Park, Patton Oswalt, and Elijah Wood, the Among Us animated series released today could help raise non-gamer audiences’ awareness of the franchise ahead of the release of Innersloth’s upcoming new standalone title.
