Path of Exile 2 hits PS5 in late 2024

Grinding Gear Games’ Path of Exile 2 will debut on the PS5 in early access in late 2024.

The game looks pretty good based on a trailer shown at Sony’s State of Play event today. The environments for the game look pretty realistic, as viewed in an isometric view from above. The effects look good, as do the trees, fires, shadows and combat.

New Zealand-based Grinding Gear Games teased Path of Exile fans with the sequel a year ago during the Summer Game Fest.

The free-to-play online-only action RPG’s has been waiting for the sequel since 2019. But the game was delayed from its original 2022 release window, thanks to the pandemic. It promises couch co-op, cross-play and cross-progression.

Path of Exile 2 is expected to have a new skill system with 240 active skill gems and 200 support gems. And it could have be twelve character classes.
