Red Rover Interactive secures $15M in Series A funding round

Red Rover Interactive has announced that it has secured $15 million in funding as part of its Series A round. This is the second round of funding for Red Rover within a year, as it held its seed round last June. Both rounds of funding will go towards Red Rover’s current in-development title, a survival game codenamed Project Coltrane.

Krafton led the round, with Tirta Ventures and Overwolf participating alongside existing investors The Games Fund, Behold Ventures, Lifelike Capital and Acequia Capital. Maria Park, VP head of Krafton’s corporate development division, implied in a statement that the company’s interest in Red Rover and Project Coltrane comes in part from a similarity with PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. “[Red Rover’s] commitment to player-centric, iterative development resonates strongly with PUBG’s ethos, emphasizing player feedback and iterative design. We have had the privilege of witnessing their immersive development approach firsthand during weekly playtests with players and streamers.”
