Strategy Analytics: Nintendo will overtake Sony as top console maker in 2019

Nintendo will become the top console maker in 2019, according to a new report by Strategy Analytics. It predicts that Nintendo will sell more Switch systems than Sony will move PlayStation 4 consoles.

This would be the first time Nintendo has lead the console market since 2009, during the Wii era. Specifically, Strategy Analytics projects that Nintendo will sell 17.3 million Switch systems worldwide. The PlayStation 4 won’t be far behind at 17.1 million.
