Updated: Call of Duty: Black Ops III servers down for many

[Update: I managed to get into some multiplayer rounds early Saturday morning. And Saturday late morning: Server status is listed as good across platforms.]

Call of Duty: Black Ops III launched today, and users are reporting troubles logging into multiplayer servers. The multiplayer online service appears to be very spotty.

Activision’s official website shows some bad news. The server status updates on the major platforms indicates “not good” server performance. The PC status is definitely “not good” while the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are categorized as “not good” as well. The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 are marked as “good.”

Call of Duty launches are often so big that they bring down online servers. But there’s no official word yet as to what the cause is. Activision support’s Twitter suggest that you restart your console and download the latest game update. We’ll update this story as we get more information.
