Driveclub server upgrades ‘prepare for PlayStation Plus edition’

Seven months in, Driveclub finally looks set to get its promised PlayStation Plus edition — a free version of the good-looking racer for subscribers to Sony’s online gaming service.

Developer Evolution Studios is releasing an update today for the PlayStation 4-exclusive racer, which coincides with a server upgrade that could pave the way for its long-delayed PlayStation Plus edition. Driveclub arrived in pretty bad shape last October when its online servers struggled to cope and made the game unplayable. These problems meant the promised PlayStation Plus edition of Driveclub didn’t arrive, but this update provides some hope. It may be too late for some, though, given how much time has passed since launch and the fact that rival titles, like Project Cars, are now around.
