Nintendo is struggling. It’s poised to lose more than $200 million in net income for the year, but the company shouldn’t blame gamers in Japan.
Famitsu, a weekly Japanese gaming magazine (via the message board NeoGAF), revealed the 100 best-selling physical games of 2013 in Japan. Nintendo had a strong showing, with the 3DS handheld dominating the chart. The Wii U performed also performed well. Nine of the top 10 games were on Nintendo systems. The PlayStation 3 version of Grand Theft Auto V was the only game to crack the top 10 that wasn’t on a Nintendo platform.
