Singularity 6 today announced the latest update for its cozy multiplayer game, Palia. The latest patch, 0.195, introduces new features building out the homesteading vibes just in time for the cozy fall season. Among other features, the game adds the ranching skill, the first new skill since the game launched; Daily Quests, and the debut of the Home Lines feature. The update launches today.

The Ranching skill is focused on caring for and breeding animals within your home plot. These include Pekis (fowl who produce eggs), Trufflets (pigs who forage mushrooms), Ormuu (cows who produce milk, though they require much attention to do so) and Bumbles (bees… just bees). The developers state they plan to add more species in the future. Players have to keep their animals happy and fed, and can also breed them for specific traits.

The Home Lines are a new modular housing system, that allows players more flexibility to build the house they want. It’s not quite The Sims, but it introduces new features such as multi-level building and open-air patios, along with specific architectural themes. The first Home Line is the Alchemist’s Cottage, which gives “spooky fairytale charm.” The Daily Quest update also adds over 200 rotating quests to Palia.

Palia’s gameplay producer, who goes by “S6 Forseti,” said in the update post: “This system is still a work in progress, with many improvements to come, but we were so excited to see what players could do with the additional capabilities, we couldn’t hold it back… In 0.195, with Alchemist’s Cottage, players will be able acquire a pre-fabricated house which they can then modify and extend to their hearts content in order to experience the new capabilities of Home Lines.”
