8-Bit Trip: A Lego-Infused Tribute to Video Games

Why is it that in America the top music hits never have videos as inventive as this? Ok, so it may not appear in the Billboard top ten, but a Swedish band named Rymdreglage pays homage to some old classics in "8-Bit Trip"– a music video that took over 1500 hours to complete and is done almost completely with Legos.

All your favorites have to come to represent: Super Mario Bros., Kung Fu, Pac-Man, and several more. They even threw in some animated images of Bub from Bubble Bobble and a few Tetrominos….all put to a snappy retro-sounding tune [via Technabob]:

Each character in this work of art had to be built, moved, and photographed individually. If videos these days were this inventive, I might actually watch MTV or whatever passes for music television these days.
