Zombie Castaways passes 2 million downloads

Who would have thought that marooned zombies could do so well for themselves?

Developer Vizor Interactive announced today that its free-to-play mobile game Zombie Castaways has passed 2 million downloads one month after its launch on iOS and Android. It’s off to a strong start in a mobile market that’s worth $36 billion, according to market research firm Newzoo. Zombie Castaways has players developing an island into a town, thanks to some helpful undead. Player can speed up the building process with items bought with real money.

“Since the launch of Zombie Castaways, Vizor has been committed to making improvements and enhancements to the game, including adjustments to the interface and maps,” Vizor told GamesBeat in a press release. “The [next] update is to be released in a few days and features refreshing winter content: the developers decided to let players cool down in hot summer days.”

That new content includes a new location, the Star Island, and seven new buildings players can create.

Vizor Interactive focuses on games for mobile and social platforms. It is based in Minsk, Belarus, and has created other games like Klondike, Mahjong Treasure Quest, and Knights and Brides.
