YouTube on Xbox 360Now, you can surf for cute cat videos from the comfort of your couch. Microsoft has added a YouTube app to its Xbox 360 console.

By linking your Xbox gamertag with a YouTube account, you can access your Watch Later, Playlists, Favorites, Subscriptions, and more. However, not all of the content on the video sharing site is available, including some trademarked and licensed content from official partners.

The YouTube app has been optimized for the new Xbox 360 dashboard interface recently launched on Dec. 6 and runs videos in full screen mode. It is also compatible with Kinect.

Bringing YouTube to the 360 is all part of Microsoft’s recent initiative to turn Xbox Live into less of a gaming service and more of a multimedia service. The company already offered Netflix and Hulu Plus. Now, with the recent dashboard update, users can get access to 26 TV channels from Verizon FiOS, OnDemand movies from Comcast, and more.

Microsoft also said these new services are now available: Blinkbox in the United Kingdom; iHeartRadio (Clear Channel)  in the U.S.; MSN Video in Australia, Canada, Germany, Italy, Mexico, and the U.K.; MSNBC.com in the U.S.; MUZU.TV in Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, U.K.; Rogers On Demand (Rogers Media) in Canada; SBS on demand in Australia; TMZ (Warner Bros.) in  Canada and the U.S.; and RTVE (RTVE.es) in Spain.
