Nintendo’s Yo-Kai Watch 2 is coming to the U.S. on September 30

Yo-Kai Watch isn’t done with the U.S. yet.

Nintendo announced today that the ghost-collecting Yo-Kai Watch 2 is coming to the U.S on September 30 for 3DS. It will release in two versions (a strategy used by Nintendo’s popular Pokémon series): Bony Spirits and Fleshy Souls. They will add 100 Yo-kai (those cute, ghost-like monsters) to the series. These games came out in Japan back in 2014 (where they quickly sold over 5 million copies), but we just got the first Yo-Kai Watch last year. The series is a huge hit in Japan, and its beginning to creep into the U.S. with the games (including the mobile release Yo-Kai Watch: Wibble Wobble) and the cartoon airing on Disney XD.

“After being such a massive sensation in Japan, it’s great to see the U.S. start to embrace the mischievous and lovable Yo-kai,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of sales and marketing, in a press release sent to GamesBeat. “We’re excited to continue bringing fun Yo-kai experiences stateside this year.”

Along with the games, a new season of the cartoon will air on Disney XD this summer. Hasbro is also creating new Yo-Kai Watch toys, including one based on the watch the cartoon’s hero wears in the second season, for this fall.
