The company announced this morning that it will release its own Xbox One Stereo Headset that plugs directly into the Xbox One controller. This will enable gamers to hear the in-game audio as well as party and public voice chats in multiplayer. The headphones features over-the-ear cups and a unidirectional microphone as well as full controls to adjust the game, chat, and microphone levels.

Xbox One’s Stereo Headset will go on sale in early March for $80.

Of course, many of you probably already have your own gaming headset that you use with your PC, PlayStation 4, or last-gen consoles. Right now, the Xbox One controller has no input for a standard pair of earphones or microphone, but that soon will change.

Also in early March, Microsoft will release the Stereo Headset Adapter. This is a small dongle that plugs into the base of the Xbox One controller and provides a 3.5mm jack for universal headphones. This adapter also provides volume controls for the in-game audio and chat channels.

Microsoft is timing the release of these new peripherals so that they are available for purchase before the upcoming Electronic Arts shooter Titanfall debuts on March 11. That is one of the Xbox One’s first major releases since launch, and the team at Microsoft wants to make sure everything is in place to provide a good experience to new players.

The company also announced the details of a patch that will address multiplayer and chat issues on March 4.
