Sony teased Marvel's Wolverine.

Wolverine is heading to PlayStation

Another Marvel superhero is on the way to PlayStation. Sony made the announcement today during its PlayStation Showcase. It’s Wolverine, the famous X-Men member. Insomniac is the developer of this game.

Sony has already had success with Insomniac’s Spider-Man games for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. The Marvel brand has been making a renewed push in gaming, which includes upcoming games like Firaxis’s Marvel’s Midnight Suns and Eidos Montreal’s Guardians of the Galaxy. And while Square Enix’s Avengers game may not have been the giant hit everyone hoped for, it does have its fans.

The reveal trailer was light on details. But, hey, it’s definitely Wolverine. He’s no stranger to gaming, including a surprisingly good movie tie-in from Raven in 2009, Wolverine: Origins.

Insomniac has proved it has some serious superhero chops with its Spider-Man games, so it’ll be exciting to see what it can do with this character.

In a post on the PlayStation Blog, Insomniac revealed that Brian Horton (creative director) and Cameron Christian (game director) are leading development, both having previously worked on Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
