Fresh off of recent popular release of Super Smash Bros. and Amiibo release, the Wii U is the surprise hot selling holiday item this Christmas. Retailers have taken cue from customer trend and for this week, Target is slashing prices on the Black Wii U 32GB Deluxe Set to only $249.99 – a price even cheaper than what we’ve seen during Black Friday this year!

Also available from Target in the same sale, Nintendo 3DS XL handheld units are discounted by $50 to $149.99, with an additional bonus of a free Disney game.

Both of the offer is available in-store and online, although we suspect the latter may quickly run out of stock before the day ends. Having said that, purchasing the Wii U bundle online is still probably the safest bet in securing a unit in time for Christmas. Orders placed before December 20th will receive free shipping that will arrive in time for the holidays.

When you check-out, you can also request for free store pickup if the estimated shipping time frame is too close for comfort.

This Wii U Deluxe Set comes with Super Mario 3D World and Nintendo Land, two excellent titles as a perfect start to Wii U gaming.

The 3DS XL comes with a free game choice of either Big Hero 6: Battle in the Bay or Frozen: Olaf’s Quest. Once you add either game to your cart, the discount will be reflected during checkout.

We’ll update this post throughout the day with other Wii U and 3DS related deals as we hit the last stretch of holiday shopping deals.

Update 12/14 9AM PST: The Wii U is now out of stock for online shipping, but you can still order online and secure a unit for in-store pick up – if you have a local Target near you.
