I shudder to think about the monumental task of going to CES 2026, which is coming up in the first week of 2026 in Las Vegas. The gigantic trade show looms ahead, and I think of all of the stories I’ll have to write.
On the other hand, the mixture of tech, gaming and entertainment that is contained in the three million or so square feet of the show is what I live for as a gaming/tech journalist. I wear my best walking shoes and last year I walked more than 105,000 steps during the show, or 46 miles. And so I have started the annual ritual of attending CES over again with an interview with Gary Shapiro, CEO of the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), which orchestrates CES.
