Bulkhead and Team17 announced this weekend that Wardogs, the recent tactical FPS sensation, has sold over three million copies as of 16 days after its launch.
The multiplayer shooter game is still in early access, and, despite having trouble accommodating a rush of players in the first couple of days, it continues to draw players since its launch on Steam on September 10. The game tallied one million players within a day of launch, and then within a week of its launch it hit two million players.
I did a fireside chat on Friday with Mikkel Weider, CEO of Everplay, which owns Team17, StoryToys and Astragon Entertainment at the Nexus Games Conference executive summit. It’s great to see the company’s progress with big launches such as Hell Let Loose: Vietnam in August and now Wardogs in September.

Everplay is a publicly traded company, and Weider has been CEO since January 2026. I think of it as one of the mammals of the game industry, as it’s an independent game company with sizable hits and innovation that can challenge the triple-A companies. As an example, Wardogs is gaining considerable momentum ahead of the October 23 launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. Activision is going to have to work to keep its status as a top first-person shooter game.
The company thanked players in its tweet and is working on Season 02 content and beyond, with more information dropping this week. The team is working on addressing various bugs still and crafting additional content.
