Jak and Daxter Trilogy isn’t just for home consoles anymore — the classic 3D platformer franchise is headed to Sony’s portable device in two months.
The publisher announced today that it is bringing the Jak and Daxter Trilogy to its powerful PlayStation Vita portable console, according to the PlayStation blog. It is due out for $29.99 this June.
Jak and Daxter Trilogy originally hit the PlayStation 3 in February 2012. The collection combines Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, Jak II, and Jak 3. Check out the titles in action in the trailer below:
Sony promises that the Vita will faithfully reproduce the colorful visuals of the original games while also offering Trophy support for the portable title.
Jak and Daxter is one of the biggest franchise from developer Naughty Dog, the studio that went on to produce the Uncharted series. Jak and Daxter has remained mostly dormant since 2009’s Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier for PlayStation Portable. Developer High Impact Games handled that release. Prior to that, the last Naughty Dog Jak game was 2005’s Jak X: Combat Racing for PlayStation 2 or 2004’s Jak 3 for PS2 if you only count the platformer titles.
Naughty Dog is currently developing survival action game The Last of Us for PlayStation 3. That anticipated title debuts June 14.
