Today is Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) 2026, and Ubisoft has announced that its progressive rollout of the Accessible Games Initiative has begun, starting with games like Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition, with more games to be added throughout the year.
The Accessible Games Initiative aims to provide players with clear information about accessibility features within games through a series of tags. Ubisoft has started by adding tags Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition and more.
“With each passing year, our developers are opening up game worlds to more players,” said David Tisserand, director of accessibility, in a press release. “While we’re communicating on it through our Accessibility Spotlights and our Customer Support, there is no better place to find this information than where players make the decision to buy a game or not. Coupled with the consistency that the Accessible Games Initiative Tags bring, players are now able to assess the accessibility of our games based on a clear convention they know and trust.”
The press release also says that accessibility is a priority for Ubisoft, from considering accessibility at the early stages of game development to communicating accessibility features before each game’s launch through our ongoing article series, Accessibility Spotlights.

Last March, the company announced it was a founding member of the Accessible Games Initiative, an Entertainment Software Association (ESA) project. The Accessible Games Initiative created a tagging system so players with disabilities can find games that meet their accessibility needs.
“We’re thrilled to see Ubisoft’s adoption of the Accessible Games Initiative tags, and this is only the beginning,” said Daniella Decker, executive director at the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), in the same press release. “As storefronts, publishers, developers, and the wider industry adopt the Initiative’s tags, they become more than labels. They become a shared language where everyone has the chance to play. Together, we’re building a future where every player can easily discover, enjoy, and connect through the power of games.”
The first accessibility tags are available on the product pages for the following games:
- Rayman Legends
- Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition
- Splinter Cell Blacklist
- Valiant Hearts: Coming Home
The accessibility tags will be available on each game’s product page, with additional games to be added on a rolling basis throughout 2026 and beyond. Players can then see the specific definition for applicable tags on the Accessible Games Initiative website.
These tags, such as Narrated Menus, Save Anytime, Full Input Remapping, and Color Alternatives, among many others, provide a clear definition for accessibility considerations so players know exactly what’s available in each title when tags are applied. Existing tags were developed with players with disabilities, accessibility advocacy groups, and game development teams, and more tags may be added as the program grows.
