A debut that’s been 16 years in the making, Typical Gamer will join Fortnite as a playable character as part of the game’s Icon Series. Andre Rebelo, also known as Typical Gamer, is a Canadian YouTuber, streamer, and professional Fortnite player who’s been creating content for the game since 2017.
The Icon Series is a special cosmetic category that brings real-world personalities into the game as playable characters to celebrate their impact on Fortnite’s community and culture. As one of Fortnite’s longest-running creators and earliest ambassadors, Typical Gamer has spent nearly a decade helping shape the game’s creator culture.
He’s built a content and game development operation behind a community of 26.5M followers who have recorded 9.7B views from a catalog of gameplay, tutorials, and family-friendly, Fortnite-focused entertainment.
Beyond just content creation, Typical Gamer enters the series as both a creator and a game developer. Following a $2M investment in 2024, his independent UEFN creative studio, JOGO, generated 14 billion minutes of playtime across original Fortnite experiences, which are essentially games within Fortnite.
TG’s Icon Series outfit hits the Fortnite Shop for a 10-day run at 8 pm ET on Thursday, May 28th. The catalog includes the following items:
- Typical Gamer outfit: Two styles, Typical Gamer and Heist TG. Classic red and blue
- Emote: ‘Go Live’ and ‘Random Challenges’
- Back bling: Heist Duffel featuring TG’s dog Charlie and cat George, a Typical Gamer backpack and the Gifford Shuffle
- Pickaxe: Stealth Breaker and Stealth Slicer
- Weapon Wrap: ‘Energy Burn’ featuring TG’s trademark red and black camo
- Loading screen: Custom graphic inspired by Cash Heist City, JOGO’s flagship Fortnite experience
- Lobby Banner: Available exclusively after scoring eight points through TG’s Icon Cup
- Ruby Redway: A reimagined take on Fortnite’s Ruby outfit inspired by TG’s wife and fellow content creator, Samara Redway
The release also coincides with the Typical Gamer Icon Cup, a Solo Battle Royale featuring 11 matches. The top 1500 players across all regions will be gifted the full Typical Gamer bundle. The Redway Ruby Outfit and other cosmetic items will go to the top 4500 players across all regions in celebration of their contribution to Fortnite over the years.
