It was a big weekend for the top game-broadcasting website, and now it’s time for Twitch to beat its chest a bit.
The livestreaming site revealed that more than 20,000 people came to its first-ever TwitchCon fan event in San Francisco on Friday and Saturday. That’s an impressive number considering this is the first time the Amazon-owned company has ever done anything like this. Twitch is in a battle to fend off competition from Google’s YouTube Gaming, and it’s attempting to do that by establishing a tight community of broadcasters and viewers — and TwitchCon seems like it was successful at promoting that.
