Twitch extension will let viewers predict The Game Awards 2017 winners

Twitch is turning The Game Awards into a more interactive experience with a livestream overlay viewers can use to vote on who they think will win. The Community Predictions Extension rolls out at 5:30 p.m. Pacific on December 7, which is when the award show will air.

Muxy, a company that specializes in creating tools for broadcasters, created the overlay with Twitch Extensions. While on a streamer’s channel, viewers can use the extension to vote for which games they think will win in each of The Game Awards’ categories such as Best Art Direction, Best Narrative, and Game of the Year. By voting, the viewers will join the streamer’s “team,” and a leaderboard will show which team has guessed the most winners correctly. Broadcasters can also choose to co-stream with another channel, which will pit the two streamers’ teams against each other.
