You probably didn’t know this, but the PlayStation 4 is going to launch this year. That’s according to the Wall Street Journal (paywalled), but Joystiq was kind enough to share this rumor.
The Feb. 20 date that Sony teased in yesterday’s video is when the publisher will unveil the new system, claims the Journal.
Here’s what’s important: The Journal didn’t call this a report and didn’t call it a rumor. It boldly ran the headline, “Sony to Unveil PS3 Successor.” It’s also worth noting that the Wall Street Journal has good sources and doesn’t just run any rumor it comes across. This doesn’t mean that it’s confirmed the PlayStation 4, but it reaffirms what we already thought true.
