Whether or not you have the iPhone 3gs or the 3g, it makes no difference; if you have an iPhone, you want games on it!
So what games are worth your valuable time and hard-earned cash? Look no further because for a limited time only, you have the privilege of finding yourself in the right place at the right time.
What is an iPhone?
Assuming you’ve been living under a rock for the last 2 years, you’re wondering what an iPhone is, right? Rather than simply telling you what it is, I’ve decided to write a small poem about this magical piece of machinery:
What would my life be without you?
Where would I be today?
The answer is: I would have more money
I would work rather than play all day
Get the picture?
The truth is that when I got my iPhone six months ago, I was just as lost as you are now. I was alone, cold, and starving for some truly great games and apps.
Was I greeted with open arms and ten free great games? No. I was bombarded by too many games and, in some cases, terrible quality.
Anyway, this list is only one man’s journey, and I hope to shed a light on the dark road that is the Apple App Store.
This strategy game creates an unusual mix between zombies and plants. You will find yourself having to defend your house against hordes of zombies by planting plants. Not only is the artwork and writing charming, but also the game play is diverse and challenging. As you beat each level in adventure mode, you unlock a new type of plant to use against a changing variety of zombies. So the strategy can constantly change and the game play always remains diverse, light-hearted, and fun. To sum it up, this is a must have game for any iPhone or iPod Touch users.
2.Zenbound
Zenbound, in all of its puzzlely wisdom, puts you up against wood objects of different shapes. If that’s not enough for you, it has you wrap them in rope – yes rope – to paint – yes paint – the entire structure. The game grades you with percentages on your ability to cover the entire structure in paint. The true gold behind the Zenbound name, however, is its music. Each soundtrack is refreshing and relaxing which is not how I generally feel while playing a puzzle game. The developers say it’s not about high scores, but a relaxing experience; but I say buy this game and get 100% on every shape then tell me wrapping a rope that is super soaked in paint around a structure for a score, isn’t a viable puzzle game…BOOM!
3. Spider: The Secret of Bryce Manor
Since playing as a spider and catching bugs in your created webs wasn’t enough for the hard core-spider-playing-genre, (those are the types of games you guys play right?) Tiger Style decided to do something completely different; they added a story. At first glance all you will see about this game is its visual flair and obvious charm, but if you choose to look closer, there is a deep mystery going on in Bryce Manor, and as a spider, you will have to interpret the mystery with your own eight eyes.
4. Squareball
Remember Super Mario Brothers? Yeah, well, this is not that game; however, it does bring up some incredible memories of trial and error game play that the human nature loves so much. Want to bounce a square ball through obstacles by moving the iPhone touch screen with your fingers? Then you are reading the right area of this article. Seriously though, what makes this game so great is its simplicity. All you have to do is move the screen to the left (which causes the ball to move to the right) and avoid enemies and pits; just like in the days of Super Mario Brothers and Pitfall. You…will…love…it.
5. Angry birds
This is technically the only newish game on the list. I was taken with this app when I decided to download it last week from the top-downloaded page on the app store. Its simple and creative game play has kept me coming back for more. The premise is you launch different types of birds at unsuspecting buildings to destroy them. Obviously, the birds are angry at the pigs inside the structures for stealing their eggs, and they want to destroy the pigs’ homes or get their eggs back. Whatever the goal is of the birds, play this game, you won’t regret it…or maybe you will?
6. Awesome Note
Ok, I said only five games, but this is not a game. I couldn’t stand by while all the prior games were added to this list, only to leave out my favorite app of all time. It may not be a game, but to me it’s practically used as much. Lets give props to the iPhone app of the year: Awesome note. If you get this app, you will literally know how to cook, and you will find who you truly are. Well, you won’t learn how to cook per se, but you will gain a ton of productivity.
This writing app combines every writing tool you could want to use into a streamlined package for only four bucks. To list a few: password protected journal, an idea section, study section, shopping to-do list, other to-do list, projects area, and travel diary. Not only can you customize every area of the app, including font, text size, and folders color and name, but you can also create as many folders as you want. You can upload all of your created content to your Gmail account, set due dates that show up in your calendar, and set alarms for when those due dates arrive. There are so many features, that I just can’t name them all in a reasonable amount of space.
There is only one answer, check this app out!
Thank you all for going on this emotional journey with me. I only hope that everyone can be satisfied with the advice I presented, and not regret their decisions to buy iPhone games. For those of you wary about the price of some of the games, these games are totally worth their dollar amount…I guarantee it.
