LOS ANGELES — Look out, Hearthstone. The Elder Scrolls is coming for you.

Bethesda announced The Elder Scrolls: Legends during it’s pre-Electronic Entertainment Expo tradeshow briefing today, a digital card game for PC and tablets. It will be free-to-play. It involves races from the long-lived franchises, like Orcs, the Nords, and the cat-like Khajit.

Digital card games have become popular, especially Blizzard’s Hearthstone: Heroes of the Warcraft for PC and mobile. Blizzard has said that more than 30 million people have played Hearthstone as of May.

Bethesda has expanded its Elder Scrolls franchise the past few years. It used to consist of single-player adventures, but last year’s The Elder Scrolls: Online was an online multiplayer game.

Bethesda didn’t show any gameplay. We’ll likely learn more as E3 continues this week.
