After a year as a multiplayer-only free-to-play game on Steam, on Tuesday The Banner Saga made its single player, first-chapter official launch. While the game sells for $24.99 on Steam, you can buy the Steam key for $18.74 after a 25% off January-themed coupon code at GameFly. The Viking-themed turn-based tactical RPG earned a relatively high 83/100 ranking on Metacritic. Not bad for the first launch by Indie developer Stoic.
Beyond the Steam Store, the title can also be found for full price at GameStop, Uplay Store, and the Humble Store. Best deal is the aforementioned Gamefly deal for 25% off, close second is Sweden-based GamersGate which gives you 20% back in blue coins (store credit).
Fans of the old school Dungeons & Dragons RPG games should check out GamersGate this weekend. Starting today, they’re giving a hefty 75% discount to the Neverwinter Nights Complete Pack, Baldur’s Gate II Enhanced Edition, and the D&D Anthology Master Collection. Just the D&D Anthology Master Collection includes 4 big titles with all expansion packs for only five bucks. Just getting around to playing them all might be a challenge.
Lastly, there are a few other sales to take note of this week. The Microsoft Store began a clearance sale on select PC & Xbox 360 games on January 1st, 2014. The titles that haven’t yet sold out now have deeper discounts. The still-in-stock list includes Metal of Honor: Warfighter, originally on sale for $6.99 but today discounted an additional $4 to only $2.99! The same coupon used to discount The Banner Saga can also be used in GameFly’s “Indie Titles” sale, dropping last year’s hit FPS release PayDay 2 from $30 down to $13.59. Also notable is the PSN’s 14 for ’14 Sale, where 14 PS3 and 14 PS Vita games are on sale for up to 50% off their usual prices. Better still, if you’re a PlayStation Plus member, you get up to 75% off those PSN games.

Europa Universalis 4 (PC Download) — $15 at Green Man Gaming after coupon. List is $40. It’s not the lowest price we’ve seen (that was $10 for 24 hours in mid-December), but it is the second best price and timely with the new Conquest of Paradise expansion released on Tuesday.
