The 10,800 game layoffs in 2024 already exceeded all cuts in 2023 — here’s why | The DeanBeat

With the layoffs of 150 people at Sumo Group and 100 more at Timbre Games this week, the total estimated layoffs in 2024 have exceeded 10,800, according to the Game Industry Layoff Tracker.

In just 5.5 months, the game industry layoff toll for 2024 exceeds the 10,500 laid off in all of 2023 and 8,500 laid off in all of 2022.
