One of the reveals at Gamescom 2024’s Opening Night Live was Reanimal, a spooky new horror title from Little Nightmares developer Tarsier Studios. Created in a similar side-scrolling, dimly lit style to the developers’ previous games, the trailer shows horrifically mutated farm animals pursuing the player characters, among other delights. The game launches on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on an unspecified date.

The description of the game on Steam reads: “In this horror adventure game, a brother & sister go through hell to rescue their missing friends and escape the island that they used to call home.” The game can be played solo or in co-op, though it’ll have a shared camera “designed to maximize claustrophobia and tension.”

While Tarsier is making Reanimal, its Little Nightmares series continues with Little Nightmares 3, developed by Supermassive Games. The game was recently delayed to a 2025 release date.
