British authorities, with support from the FBI, have arrested a man in England in connection with a recent spate of distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks aimed at Sony and Microsoft.
A 22-year-old in England was arrested on suspicion of computer fraud, and police are also investigating potential links to the PSN and Xbox Live attacks.
The threat is real, and it is only getting worse. The group that has claimed responsibility for taking down the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live online gaming services is capable of doing real damage, according to NexusGuard chief scientist Terrence Gareau.
