That's not Mario

A lot of iPhone owners want Nintendo to release games for Apple’s devices. It looks like developer Walnut JZ went ahead and did it himself with his 3D Cartoon Land: Safari, which sure looks like a clone of Super Mario 3D Land for the 3DS.

For 99 cents, iOS users can run a Mario-like character through copies of Super Mario 3D Land levels. Some reviews of the game complain that the character can’t run or shoot fireballs, but the photos show that the blockhead-propeller powerup is fully functional.

Here’s how Walnut JZ describes his game in the App Store:

Very simply yet very addicting. This unique game requires you to quickly jump over obstacles and collect coins, but you are not secure in this beautiful cartoon world. An angry tortoise could bite you. An easy and smooth control makes it very funny [sic] and to jump or run.

So, game of the year or what? I do love games with angry biting tortoises. Although, I’m still a bit confused about the safari aspect of this cartoon land.
