Microsoft announced that State of Decay 3 is coming in 2027.
The zombie survival game has been in the works for a long time, but now there’s light at the end of the tunnel with a year attached to the game. Based on the trailer, it’s going to lean heavily into action, but there’s some clever traps on display like the radio bomb in the trailer.
The company made the announcement at the Xbox Showcase during Summer Game Fest week in Los Angeles. The last game, State of Decay 2, launched in 2018. It was generally underwhelming, but this one focuses on four-player multiplayer and has a lot of action.
You can gain advantages from crafting, but the zombies are smarter and can hunt in packs. In contrast to some of the other titles, this will be coming to PlayStation 5 as well as the Xbox consoles and PC.
