Electronic Arts revealed a release date for Star Wars Zero Company, its upcoming turn-based tactics game set in the Star Wars universe. The game launches on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on August 27, with pre-orders being available now. The trailer also shows the game’s emphasis on operator customization and skills.

The trailer shown also revealed more about the game’s story, including that the titular Zero Company is a mercenary team that includes a former Clone Trooper, a Padawan and a Mandalorian among others. They’re tasked with tracking down the leader of a cult in the era of the Clone Wars.

Operators can be recruited from several different species and professions. Hawks themself is fully customizable. Players can also bond their characters in order to create support moves and new training benefits. The galaxy map in-game will feature over 150 planets, as well as choices that will effect Zero Company’s story.

Greg Foertsch, CEO of developer Bit Reactor, said in a statement, “The bold characters, powerful storytelling, striking settings and the sense of heart beneath the battles in Star Wars has helped us create an experience that pushes the tactics genre forward by combining deep gameplay with cinematic elegance. We’ve worked hand-in-hand with Lucasfilm Games to create an authentic Star Wars story packed with unique new characters, robust character customization, a new ship, Separatist Droids and much more, all rooted in the conflict of The Clone Wars.”
