Star Citizen is free to try this weekend: Use this code

Hello, fellow PAX East attendee (psst, just nod along with everything I’m about to say to you even if you didn’t go to PAX East).

Star Citizen is free to try out this weekend for anyone who went to PAX East (are you nodding?!). This is the incredibly ambitious space-sim game from developer Cloud Imperium Games. Typically, the only way to get into the game is to plop down a chunk of cash toward the studio’s massively successful crowdfunding campaign, which has already surpassed $73 million. But thanks to our collective attendance to PAX (right?), we can try out the game for the next couple of days without having to pay anything.

Exciting! Here’s how to get into the free weekend (and don’t worry, Cloud Imperium gave us the OK to share this with you):

  1. Go to the special website that the developer set up for PAX East attendees: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/promotions/paxeast-2015/
  2. Either sign in to your existing account or register for a new one.
  3. Enter the following code, which you definitely, 100 percent received while you were on the show floor at PAX East: “PAXEASTFREEFLY2K15”
  4. Download the installer and enjoy.

As we mentioned, this will only last through the weekend. Cloud Imperium is going to shut down free access some time on March 15, so get to downloading as soon as you can. We’ll see you among the stars.
