GSC Game World announced today that it is once again delaying the launch of its upcoming title, Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, from September 5 to November 20. According to the developer, this is so it can fix the game’s bugs, or “unexpected anomalies.” The Ukrainian team has already delayed the game multiple times, in part due to working on the game during the Russian invasion.

The statement reads, “We know you might be tired of waiting, and we truly appreciate your patience. We are always grateful for your ongoing support and understanding — it means the world to us. We’re just as eager as you are to finally release the game and for you to experience it for yourself.” They also added that they are putting out a developer deep dive video on August 12.

Stalker 2 was originally planned for a 2022 release, only for development to be put on hold in early 2022. GSC Game World documented the conditions under which it worked and gave a very general “2023” release window for the title. Stalker 2 was later honored by the PC Gaming Show as the “most wanted” PC game of 2024.
