Second Stage Studio, creator of the hit competitive platformer SpeedRunners, announced its Sprint City game for Steam early access in 2026.
The new movement-first shared world is a competitive 2D platformer. Designed with speed, flow, and mastery in mind, Sprint City drops players into a solarpunk city where
wheels don’t exist and on-foot movement is king. Built on a single shared world, the game connects nearby players seamlessly, while parties stay linked as they explore the city.
Game owners can also invite several friends to join as guests via their browser and play for free, so grab your friends and take on intense time-based challenges, or go at your own pace and craft the perfect line through the city.

Co-owner and game designer at Second Stage Studio, Casper van Est, said in a statement, “With Sprint City, we wanted to focus on what we love most in games and what we’re best at, which is pure movement. It’s a shared world multiplayer experience built around how good it can feel just to move around, so we worked really hard on a satisfying game feel and a visual style that never gets in the way of that.”
