Sony Electronics announced its new InZone gaming gear lineup with a new audio headset, a gaming mouse, a new OLED gaming monitor and Fnatic branded gaming accessories.
The gear includes the Sony InZone H6 Wired Air open-back headset and the InZone M10S II 27-inch QHD 540Hz OLED gaming monitor, designed for players who prioritize
precision and speed. I tried out some of the gear — except for the monitor, which I believe was too pricey to get into my grubby hands.
Light open air gaming headset

The InZone H6 Air introduces an open-back acoustic structure that delivers a more natural and expansive sound field. That means a lot of air gets in to keep your head and ears cool. Paired with custom drivers and integrated back ducts, the headset produces controlled low frequencies and detailed spatial audio that helps players better track in-game environments.
Engineered in collaboration with Fnatic, the leading esports team, the InZone M10S II combines a next-generation tandem-structured OLED display with Dual Mode (QHD 540Hz or HD 720Hz1), an ultra-fast 0.02ms2 response time, advanced Motion Blur Reduction (MBR) and a Super Anti-glare Film — all designed to ensure peak esports performance.
The Sony InZone H6 Air has clear, immersive sound that enhances every gaming moment
With its open-back structure, the InZone H6 Air delivers a more realistic sound field that puts players inside the game. The open-back acoustic design minimizes internal reflections by leaving the housing unobstructed. This enables accurate sound field reproduction exactly as intended by game developers, delivering a realistic audio experience that makes the player feel truly inside the game world.
I don’t have the best ears in the world. But I tried it out on ARC Raiders, a game where it really matters to have great audio — so you can hear enemies in the environment before you actually see them. They’re often flying about you or moving around in the brush. And I have to say that the sound was great, both with the headset and the ear buds.

The headset features precision-tuned driver units engineered with the same technology as
Sony’s renowned MDR-MV1 open-back studio monitor headphones and specially adapted for the InZoneH6 Air. Back ducts integrated into the driver unit help deliver deep and controlled bass reproduction, while maintaining clear separation of mid and low frequencies. This delivers more detailed, spatially accurate audio, ideal for games where sound cues are critical.
Crafted with premium aluminium, the InZone H6 Air is incredibly lightweight at approximately 199 grams (0.43 pounds, without detachable microphone and cable), making them Sony’s lightest gaming headsets. The headset uses the same spring hinge headband design seen in the InZone H9 II, to maintain a compact size without compromising on comfort and stability. This ultra-light body and unique structure of the INZONE H6 Air deliver exceptional comfort, making it ideal for long gaming sessions.
Developed with sound designers from PlayStation Studios at Sony Interactive Entertainment, who produce audio for PlayStation games, Sony has created the “RPG/Adventure” equalizer profile. Tuned specifically for Role Play Game (RPG) and adventure games, it enhances clarity, depth, and environmental detail to better reflect how the audio is intended to be heard. This can be accessed by connecting to InZone Hub via the USB-C Audio Box, which also offers virtual 7.1ch surround sound with 360 Spatial Sound for Gaming.
The InZone H6 Air also features an adjustable cardioid mic for a clear, natural voice capture. The cardioid boom mic focuses on voice and is angled towards the user’s mouth to eliminate side noise, while its flexible arm stays securely in place.
More headset details from Sony briefing

The InZone H6 Air is a wired headset where the back of the headsets are open air for the first time with lots of small perforations in the aluminum ear cups. It looks like the H9 Mark 2 headset that Sony launched last year, using the basic design, said Valerie Chi, product manager at Sony Electronics, in a press briefing.
But the open ear cups with air flow are the big difference where you can feel less heat on your head and ears.
With the closed cup headsets, the focus is more on noise isolation so it can emphasize bass sounds with a sealed ear cup. That’s ideal for noise cancellation, Chi said. But the open back headsets have a more airy, natural sound stage, so it has a generally wider sound stage and it’s better for 3D environmental cues.
“That can be good for FPS gaming or adventure RPGs, where it’s an open world type game and you’re able to hear the sounds like background music or the voice character lines around you. You don’t have any bypass or ambient sound modes like in a typical closed headset, so you’re getting great airflow around the ears because of the structure of the ear cups and overall more natural listening experience,” Chi said.
The headset is 119 grams (withou mic and cable) about 30% lighter than last year’s models as well. Altogether it’s 216 grams. It’s the lightest headset in the InZone lineup, and it made a real difference for me in terms of comfort.
For sound quality, the structure of the headset is open, which naturally provides a spatial reproduction with the 3D audio positioning, Chi said.
“It’s really great for immersive gameplay, where it kind of like brings you into the actual world that you’re in. The driver comes from the Sony MDR-M1, a professional headset from the pro audio line. But this is optimized for gaming. It has a 40-millimeter dynamic driver, and it’s got three rear ducts in the back as well. This driver allows for powerful, low distortion reproduction and improves lower frequencies with an overall clear midrange.
There’s a new equalizer preset in the InZone hub, which is Sony’s PC software. This preset is called immersive RPG adventure. So last year, Sony introduced three new presets for FPS Gaming. This new preset is specifically processed and optimized for RPG adventure game titles, and was created with the sound engineers from PlayStation Studios from a handful of their titles at Sony Interactive Entertainment.
It has a detachable microphone, unidirectional cardioid mic with a mute and unmute button located on the top left hand ear cup. This microphone prevents any potential sound leaks from exiting the headset and back into the microphone. Due to the natural structure of the headset being open, you can really hear your own voice, naturally. It’s great for streamers who typically do adopt this type of headset for streaming.
Headset is only wired and you can connect via a 3.5 millimeter jack or USB-C port when you connect with the audio box.
Esports gaming monitor

InZone M10S II – an ultra-fast QHD esports gaming monitor for competitive FPS players
Developed in collaboration with Fnatic, the InZone M10S II builds on the foundation of the M10S with refined image quality, advanced gaming features, and a design engineered for competitive play.
The InZone M10S II provides speed for a competitive edge. The maximum refresh rate is up to frame rate specs of the game and PC GPU performance Gray-to-Gray response time thanks to its premium OLED performance with a QHD 540Hz refresh rate and rapid 0.02ms response time.
The InZone M10S II is designed to minimize brightness loss while delivering a clearer image with Motion Blur Reduction (MBR) enabled. Unlike conventional MBR technologies – where reducing the illumination time by half to decrease motion blur also reduces perceived brightness in half – the InZone M10S II boosts brightness during illuminated intervals. This results in sharper motion clarity with less brightness loss and more vibrant on-screen images.
A new Super Anti-glare Film helps reduce glare for clearer visibility, with Dual Mode QHD 540Hz / HD 720Hz and customizable display settings. This minimizes reflections and distractions on screen regardless of the environment the user is playing in. Plus, with up to 720Hz HD refresh rate, they can prioritize resolution or display refresh rate to suit their gaming needs.

Refined with feedback from Fnatic, the stand is designed for maximum flexibility, offering a wide range of tilt adjustments and a compact footprint for flexible setup configurations. This monitor offers improved flexibility with a wide tilt range of -5° to 35°, building on the previous model’s range to better support different setups. The stand’s simple design allows flexible positioning of keyboards and mice. Its centered weight keeps it compact, and at just 4mm thin, it even supports stacking tilted keyboards on top.
The InZone M10S II is also competition ready with the ability to switch between a full-size 27-inch (1440p) display and a 24.5″(1332p/1080p) tournament mode, allowing for added flexibility in competitive setups.
The monitor also features two specialized gameplay modes designed to enhance competitive play. First Person Shooter (FPS) Pro mode replicates the image quality of popular competitive LCD monitors and FPS Pro+ mode leverages OLED’s superior performance for optimal in-game visuals.
The InZone M10S II is backed by a three-year warranty and OLED protection, including heat management features such as custom heat sinks, helping to maintain consistent performance over time.
Sony launched the new monitor with 540Hz gaming as a second-generation monitor that replaces is previous gaming flagship. The aim is to help contribute to esports athletes as they seek an edge in competitive FPS gaming. Those previous monitors were used in the Apex Legends esports events. Sony asked esports stars what they wanted in a new monitor.
One of the new features is a dual-mode option. The monitor ha a native QHD resolution at 540Hz, but with dual mode on, you can overclock the monitor to a 720Hz refresh rate. But if you do so, the resolution will be halved to 720p.
“It’s really ideal for esports athletes and pro players who want faster experience and the smoothest experience, even at the tradeoff of a lower resolution. And this is really popular with game titles like Counter-Strike or Valorant for low blur, a motion blur reduction feature has been added to this monitor for players that want to smooth or free gameplay at the lower refresh rates,” Chi said.
This is done through a black frame insertion, meaning that every other frame you see has an inserted a black frame. This is great for those people who whose PCs that maybe can’t run at the full 540Hz, but they still want a smoothness like it is 540Hz, but can only run half of it, which is 270Hz, she said.
“It allows for clearer picture even at a slower refresh rate,” Chi said. “However, a typical tradeoff is brightness has been reduced because you’re inserting a black frame, so it’s not as bright. Thanks to Sony’s proprietary algorithm, we actually ensure a slightly higher brightness retention when NBR is turned on.”
There are custom resolutions too, like on a stretched resolution. Pro players love to play on stretched resolution because enemies’ heads appear slightly wider. It helps with visibility and traction as well. It has a feature for reduced perceived flicker during gaming.
Fnatic Edition input devices

Sony works closely with Fnatic’s esports team. Fnatic has more than 35 million fans worldwide and they’re one of the top three most watched esports teams in the world. Sony worked closely with their Apex Legends and Valorant teams. And so it uses the team’s signature orange colors.
The new orange Fnatic Editions of InZone Mouse-A, InZone Mat-F, and InZone Mat-D are now available ( a couple of mousepads), marking another step in the collaboration between Sony and Fnatic and making Fnatic always present in the daily gaming experience – visible, vibrant, and part of every moment. The InZone Mat-F mousepad features a design inspired by Fnatic’s Valorant team and InZone Mat-D features an orange to black gradient design.
I used the orange-colored mouse and it was surprisingly light. The gaming mouse is an ultra lightweight gaining mouse at just 48 grams. And it’s wireless with 90 hours of battery life.
For the mouse, there’s a little dongel that you connect via a USB-C wire to your PC. Then you can operate your mouse wirelessly.
InZone Buds Glass Purple

Introducing the new translucent Glass Purple edition of InZone Buds, Sony’s truly wireless
noise cancelling gaming earbuds. With three color options available, black, white, and glass purple, users can choose the one that best suits their style. I liked these and the sound quality was great even though it was an in-ear experience.
