One of the games shown at this year’s Summer Game Fest was Slitterhead, the new title from Bokeh Game Studio, a team of developers including several who formerly worked on Silent Hill. Despite that pedigree, Slitterhead is more of a grotesque action-horror game than it is purely horror. It launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4 and PC on November 8.

The trailer at Summer Game Fest showed off the gory gameplay, which appears to be based around using various body parts to battle monsters and traverse the world. Players possess various people, using their bodies to battle monsters with mutated limbs and weaponized blood. Characters can even use their viscera to swing through the environment, like a particularly disgusting Spider-Man.

Slitterhead is the latest game from former Silent Hill director Keiichiro Toyama. Toyama formed Bokeh Game Studios in 2020 after splitting off from Sony.
