Rockstar Games revealed the first story trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2 in a livestream this morning. The game isn’t coming out until the spring of 2018, but Rockstar is stoking excitement about the game.

The predecessor game, Red Dead Redemption, was my favorite game of 2010. And for a lot of other people too. It sold more than 14 million copies on the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360. The trailer for the new game clearly shows that Rockstar continues to invest heavily in both high-end game graphics and cinematics.

The developer had planned to release the open-world Wild West shooter/adventure on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this year, but Rockstar delayed it into 2018.

Rockstar was terse with its description. It said it is the “story of outlaw Arthur Morgan and the Van Der Linde gang as they rob, fight and steal their way across the vast and rugged heart of America in order to survive.”

Morgan says there are “lawmen in three different states after us.” And he adds, “There ain’t no such thing as civilized.”

He definitely seems like a very tough guy in the video. Consider me sufficiently stoked.
