Harmonix has a virtual reality trick up its sleeve.
The developer revealed Rock Band VR today during The Game Awards, a version of the rhythm game for the virtual reality device Oculus Rift. Harmonix only revealed a 2016 release date. The Oculus Rift comes in the first quarter of 2016.
The trailer showed developer Harmonix working with DragonForce, the band responsible for the famously difficult song “Through the Fire and Flames.” It was mostly a comical video, although it did show some gameplay, which took place in the first-person.
Rock Band 4 came out earlier this year for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It was a traditional sequel based on previous games in the series, which itself was an evolution of Guitar Hero.
