It’s almost time to staple your eyelids to your forehead because the blisteringly paced Rise of the Triad update is out soon.

Developer Interceptor Entertainment and publisher Apogee Software plan to release the chaotic first-person shooter for PC July 31. The game is due out on Green Man, Steam, and Good Old Games for $15.

Apogee released a new trailer that shows the violent title in action:

Rise of the Triad is a revival of the 1995 original release. It is fast paced, with characters running as fast as cars and a framerate that clocks in at around 120Hz. Interceptor promises to recapture that old-school action, which has fallen out of favor with many developers and gamers.

The shooter has a 20-level campaign that puts players in control of five different characters that all play differently. Multiplayer also returns with the maps from the original game.
