Resolution Games announced today that it’s collaborating with Wizards of the Coast to make the first licensed Dungeons & Dragons game for virtual reality. While it hasn’t revealed any other information about the game, such as a title or a release date, it will be set somewhere in the D&D universe.

Resolution’s previous work includes Demeo, the VR card-based tabletop title (which later expanded to non-VR platforms) and Demeo Battles. Tommy Palm, Resolution’s CEO, said of the collaboration, “Dungeons & Dragons offers one of the richest fantasy worlds that has ever been created, and it only gets bigger with every new sourcebook and adventure. We’re beyond humbled to have the opportunity to work with such an incredible IP and look forward to sharing the first details of this new project in the future.”

Eugene Evans, SVP of digital licensing and strategy at Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro, said in a statement, “Resolution Games has a clear understanding of how to bring players together and capture the fun of tabletop gaming on digital platforms in an accessible way. They are an ideal partner to bring a new Dungeons & Dragons video game to life in VR and beyond.”

It’s not the only collaborative D&D title in the works. Last year, Starbreeze announced that it was partnering with Wizards to create a co-op multiplayer video game set in the D&D universe. That game, codenamed Project Baxter, is projected to release sometime in 2026.
