Call in the Psychonauts!

Tonight during The Game Awards, Double Fine Productions showed a trailer for Psychonauts 2. The narrative so far appears to be that the military is trying to crack the defenses of an island, which is protected by a little girl that is asleep and controlling a swarm of atomic dirty bombs with her mind. The girl, however, is dreaming that those dirty bombs are actually a flock of sheep that she is taking care of.

Tim Schafer, the lead of the original Psychonauts, profusely thanked the crowd for pressuring Double Fine Productions to pursue a sequel.

Schafer also announced that the project is being crowd funded through a new service called Fig, which will not just fund the project with donations from end users — but also allow contributors to receive a cut of the money earned as well.
