Hundreds of gamers on social media are complaining about PlayStation Network.

Sony’s online service is having issues on this Super Bowl Sunday. Many people on Twitter and other networks are noticing that they cannot sign into PSN. This is preventing them from playing online multiplayer games as well as many single-player games that require a connection to a third-party server.

We’ve asked Sony for more details, and we’ll update this story with any new details. The PSN Status website claims the online service is up and running, but it is often slow to update.

The company’s support account on Twitter did confirm that it is aware of some issues, and it said it is investigating.

This isn’t the first time Sony has had issues with PSN. On Christmas, the network went offline for nearly five straight days as the result of a cyberattack. As a response to that, Sony gave fans a 10-percent-off coupon for its game store as well as five free days of the premium PlayStation Plus subscription program.
