Pokémon + Nobunaga’s Ambition has been renamed to Pokémon Conquest for its U.S. release. As previously reported, the game is a crossover between Nintendo’s Pokémon franchise and Tecmo Koei’s series of Nobunaga’s Ambition strategy titles.
Set to launch on June 18, the Nintendo DS game will feature nearly 200 Pokémon in six-on-six turn-based battles. “Pokémon fans are always interested in playing in new environments and experiencing new adventures,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “Pokémon Conquest gives them an entirely new way to enjoy this beloved series….”
While the Pokémon franchise has countless spin-offs and iterations, this is by far the most risky and intriguing. Reports from Japan have the game selling to a much older audience than typical Pokémon titles. GamesBeat will be watching this one very closely leading up to our official review in June.
