Player.gg will be the official player destination for Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest 2026, giving studios a single hub to connect with players during and after the showcase.
Player.gg signs up players who are willing to test games and then offers those players available games for them to test ahead of the official launch.
For developers and publishers, capturing the attention generated by a Summer Game Fest reveal has traditionally been difficult as players return to fragmented storefronts and social platforms. Now, fans watching Summer Game Fest will be able to discover every featured game in one place through dedicated Player.gg pages, allowing them to sign up for playtests, wishlist titles, follow upcoming releases, and stay connected with the games that caught their attention. Player.gg is a brand of First Look, which spun out of Pragma.
The FirstLook player relationship platform is used by more than 500 studios from indie to triple-A game companies including IO Interactive, Avalanche Studios, Krafton, and Remedy Entertainment. Inspired by the way music platforms use playlists and curation to help listeners discover new artists, it aims to create a more centralized and community-driven destination for game discovery.
Geoff Keighley, creator and host of Summer Game Fest, said in statement, “To help players discover more games, we’re excited to partner with player.gg as a multi-platform destination where fans can discover, track, and wishlist titles featured during Summer Game Fest.”
Robert van Hoesel, cofounder of Player.gg, said in a statement, “Discovering a new game, getting to play it early, even helping shape what ships, those have always been scattered across a dozen places. We’re bringing them together in a central hub through curators worth trusting, a community eager to play, and a direct relationship with the studios that care.”
Former GameSpot host and Giant Bomb lead producer Lucy James will debut her new independent gaming newsletter, Lookingfor.game, on Player.gg. The newsletter will focus on curated PC gaming recommendations alongside exclusive demos and playtest opportunities integrated into the platform.
Lucy James, who is co-hosting the Summer Game Fest, said in a statement, “Now, more than ever, we need genuine, trusted recommendations for games to play, share, and experience together. I’m thrilled to partner with player.gg to build an experience that combines curation, community, and the joy of discovering awesome games.”
Studios that give away playtest keys or redeemables on Player.gg during Summer Game Fest will get complimentary access to FirstLook Partner Perks including playtests and marketing support. To date, more than 2.5 million players have onboarded through the Player.gg platform. Studios interested in customising their Player.gg pages for Summer Game Fest can sign up for free at firstlook.gg or contact [email protected] for more information.ities post-launch.
