OnePlus partners with Hoyoverse on Genshin Impact phone

OnePlus announced today it’s partnered with Hoyoverse on a new product: The OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition. This purple smartphone is designed for fans of the game, as it is customized with designs from the Hoyoverse title and is supposed to offer a smooth gaming experience with its powerful internals. It’s currently available to buy in the U.S. and Canada for $649.99.

According to OnePlus, the Genshin 12R is optimized for gaming with its Trinity Engine technology, which accelerates loading times and “true-to-life HDR graphics.” It has a customized Oxygen14 OS with Genshin styling, a 16GB RAM and 256GB storage combination, dual Dolby Atmos speakers and the Snapdragon 8 Gen2 chipset. According to OnePlus, it can run Genshin and up to 5 apps in the background for 72 hours.

The color and display are inspired by the in-game character Keqing, though purple being the color of the Electro power within the Genshin universe is fitting. In addition to the phone itself, buyers get several pieces of Genshin merch, including a SIM tray ejector shaped like Keqing’s Lightning Stiletto, an Electro-purple charging cable and a case featuring the character herself.

Kinder Liu, OnePlus COO, said in a statement, “Our collaboration with HoYoverse has propelled the OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition to new heights. We’re not just delivering a phone, we’re delivering a gateway to a wide gaming universe, with no compromises on graphics or performance. We’ve really pushed the boundaries to ensure gamers enjoy uninterrupted high-quality graphics and gameplay when they play heavy duty games on their phones. We believe that players will feel the difference while using this custom edition.”
